Congratulations to this year’s MackHack regional accelerator participants who have completed a three-day intensive program to improve the commercialisation outcomes for new products and services for the mining industry.

The event was well supported and attended by local (Mackay-based) participants from DGH Engineering, Mastermyne Group of Companies, Prochem Agencies, RTI Australia, Field Engineers, 4PS software, Mackay Conveyor Equipment, Cell Engineering and Jetz Contracting, and more.

Putting the teams through their paces, six industry challenges provided a training ground for the practical application of core concepts, tools and processes for commercialisation and guided by expert mentors.  The weekend’s learnings focused on ideation, design thinking, lean methodology and building a minimum viable product.  Additional topics included, how to validate your idea, test the market, when and why to pivot, and how to pitch.

The event culminated in a pitching battle with three teams rewarded for their solutions sharing in the $5000 prize money, sponsored by Mackay Regional Council for the third consecutive year as proud supporters of local innovation.
