Project description and overview

The Premron CHS Continuous Haulage System will revolutionise gateroad development in underground coal mines and provide safety and productivity enhancements to existing systems.

The solution removes cut coal direct from the face to a panel belt conveyor and hence provides the opportunity to deliver a continuous coal cutting and haulage system and remove shuttle cars from the production process. In addition the design of the conveyor tear drop system will significantly reduce coal dust from the operating environment.

The industry need has been recognised by ACARP under an established working group and Premron have been successful in receiving support for the solution for previous and current ACARP rounds. Kestrel coal mine are prepared to test it in a production setting, which is a considerable risk, due to its potential to deliver value.
