Project description and overview

This project includes the integration of 3ME Technology designed and built battery systems into two underground vehicles. One is a light vehicle, comparable but more robust than a Toyota Landcruiser, with a view to offering a vehicle that has high availability, better utilisation and longer capital life.

The other vehicle is an integrated tool carrier (IT).  IT’s are widely used underground for service work and often spend their time idling noisily while personnel are exposed to noise, heat and fumes.

The intent of the project is to provide a robust demonstration of Battery Electric Vehicles, helping Australian underground mining operations improve the way they operate.  Both vehicles will be modified in Australia and fitted with specially designed electric drive systems. They will be tested in several Australian mine sites and be available for sale at the conclusion of this project.
