Intellectual Property masterclass session 1 was held today. This is the fourth time this particular masterclass has been held and we were overwhelmed with the level of interest, particularly as the last IP masterclass was less than three months ago.

Prior to attending this first session attendees completed self-paced online introductory training to give them a broad introduction to the concepts of IP and its creation, protection, and management and also review some examples of patents, trademarks and registered designs relevant to the METS sector.

In today’s session facilitators, Dr Dallas Wilkinson and John Walker from Dennemeyer Group covered two modules with the cohort. The first being protection of IP to see how best to protect creative efforts and maximise value and the second was the development of IP from concept to commercialisation, looking at options for IP development and the IP implications of each approach.
