Previous METS Ignited funding recipient Premron Group, have continued to progress their commercialisation journey with the successful completion of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of their innovative Continuous Haulage System (CHS).
Regional Queensland based Premron provides leading international, proven and environmentally-friendly enclosed belt conveyor system technology.
In May 2019, the Premron CHS was announced as one of the eight collaborative industry projects to receive support from Round 3 of the METS Ignited Collaborative Project Funds. Since that time, the organisation has completed on site trials and enhanced their technology to meet the needs of the industry.
Completing the FAT on the Series1200 Premron CHS and Sizer Feeder machines was a key step in the process.
Conducted over a fourteen-week period, the FAT involved constructing a 50m long minibuild, which is about a quarter of the complete machine length of 230m, and trialling all mechanical and electrical automations and functions.
METS Ignited CEO Adrian Beer congratulated the team on this important milestone and perseverance in the development of their revolutionary technology for the underground mining sector.
“The aim of our Collaborative Project Funds was to provide the early support needed by METS companies looking to deliver new and disruptive technologies that would ultimately have significant benefits to the wider industry,” Mr Beer said.
“Over the course of developing and enhancing this product, Premron have capitalised on Australia’s strengths in underground automation to develop a product that will improve the safety and sustainability of underground mining and deliver great operational outcomes.
“Collaboration remains key to driving outcomes from Australia’s METS sector and we take great pride in celebrating our part in supporting the progress of these innovations.”
Premron will now progress to a site surface build, which will include a full development system, including the Continuous Miner, Premron Sizer Feeder, twin D1200 Ventilation Fans and Services Monorail, which will carry all the mine air, water, power, pump out lines, making it a complete Mining system. The system will progress to an underground panel in 2024.
