Project description and overview

The Austmine Women in STEM: METS Career Pathway Program has been expanded to include both male and female students studying STEM subjects. Austmine intends to establish 80 internships with METS companies to be offered for students as paid vacation positions.

The project includes the addition of a METS and mining careers website, which can be used as a promotional tool to attract students to the METS sector. Based on the success of the previous program funded by METS Ignited this will have a significant impact on the numbers of students interested in entering a career in METS and Mining.

Project Status

This phase of the project was significantly disrupted by COVID, and associated travel restrictions which made placements difficult. Despite the challenges faced, the overall program was successful.
