Participants for the next QuantumTX Queensland METS Technology Accelerator, presented with the support of the Queensland State Government and METS Ignited, have been finalised.
The program, valued at $25,000 for each participant, offers twelve weeks of intensive business training and mentoring for small businesses and late-stage start-ups looking to grow. Participants will receive mentoring, market engagement, profile raising, staff development, export readiness and international introductions that will accelerate commercial outcomes for each business looking to scale.

QuantumTX Founder Peter Rossdeutscher explained the program’s benefits in a recent announcement:
“QuantumTX provides participants with access to expert speakers from leading companies in the mining, defence, and space industries, as well as technology firms, venture capital, and export markets. The program has a particular focus on preparing businesses to scale into new markets, both locally and internationally, and culminates with a pitching event in Brisbane. QuantumTX supports local and regional technology companies with applications that can be implemented across multiple sectors. Queensland has a world-leading METS sector that employs over 30,000 people and adds more than $3 billion in value to its economy. The state boasts exceptional depth and excellence in METS capabilities, ranging from digital solutions and safety to technology and mine site rehabilitation.”
The program is presented with the support of the Queensland Government:

METS Ignited CEO Adrian Beer acknowledged the impressive quality of the innovations and growth potential among Queensland businesses, adding that METS solutions can quickly scale into significant businesses.
“We have seen strong commercialisation outcomes from previous QuantumTX programs in Queensland and look forward to tracking the future progress of those participating in this round,” Mr Beer said.
“We are proud to continue to support this initiative which has grown into a successful, national and multi-sector program.”
Past alumni of the QuantumTX Queensland program include exceptional businesses that have gone on to rapid growth and garnered numerous awards, such as Soil Cyclers, Valenhold, Gilmore Space Technologies, Universal Field Robotics, Exploration Drill Rigs and Real Serious Gaming.
The 2023 cohort is a strong mix of technology, innovation, and depth in supporting market imperatives for innovation in areas such as decarbonization and safety.
METS Ignited is proudly working in partnership with the Queensland Government to accelerate the commercialisation and productisation of innovative technologies to drive economic and jobs growth in the state. The QuantumTX program is a key part of this effort.
Background
METS Ignited is the Industry Growth Centre (IGC) for the Mining Equipment, Technology and Services sector. In operation for six years, METS Ignited successfully supported the commercialisation of technology addressing the needs of the resources sector:
- $16 million investment into 35 projects.
- 76 Industry participants, bringing more that 20 new Australian innovations to market.
- Creating over 1000 local jobs with a combined revenue estimate of $900 million by 2025.
METS Ignited supported the establishment of CRC’s including the Future Battery Industries (FBI-CRC), the formation of the Electric Mine Consortium (EMC) and the newly formed enviroMETS (Qld) Limited; established to find sustainable ways to make mining impacted land valuable to its future custodians.
